The goal of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) is to improve communication among separate research groups (conceptually, formally and technically, establishing corresponding VOs if necessary), having similar or related R&D interests. On this purpose special grid-based services for research groups and networking suitable applications were designed and organized into separate components.
